20. I loved Rob Beckett's A Class Act: his dissection of class made me think about my own experience of class, particularly at uni.
21. Audiobooks. Libby and Borrowbox are free and it means I listen across genres, experiencing books I wouldn't normally.

29. I feel I'm getting closer to James Joyce's Ulysses. Last year I listened to a radio drama and this year Stephen Fry's Odyssey. I'm going to go back to Joyce when I retire.

33. We had a wonderful time in our last home: I proposed to Harriet there and brought the boys home, but it was the right time to say goodbye to it. We really like our new home.

83. I have high hopes for the boys. They have their moments, but I see within them the kindness and sensitivity that should hopefully make them fine young men. Fingers crossed.

89. Match of the Day has the highlights without the punditry on IPlayer earlier. I can watch the best of the action without the commentary and be lights out by 10.30.
90. I made a guest appearance on the Watford fans podcast. I've listened for years, so it was great to be on there for a few minutes.
91. Going away to Swansea with my brother to watch Watford play. We had a long chat in the car, a good night out at a brewery and then saw Irankunda score a great free-kick.
92. Seeing Kit's face when he came down and saw the tree.
93. Having family sat around the table.
94. The first chocolate of Advent.
95. I assembled a book case in record time. I'm completely impractical so this was quite an achievement. The next day I then drilled too far into the bedroom wall that it made a hole the other side.
96. Watching Danny Dyer and Jade Thirwall on The Assembly.
97. My dad always used to tell me to wear thermals when I played football. I never listened. This Christmas I asked for thermals. I think he would be proud to know I own a pair of Long Johns.
98. That moment where both boys are asleep and I get to watch the tele with Harriet.
99. I'm learning new things through work. I've never really read any Sylvia Plath but am teaching her poems from Ariel next year. It's nice to read books and research her to discover something new myself.
100. Some lovely things to look forward to next year.
